Key Considerations When Starting Your Wedding Planning 

When beginning your wedding planning, two crucial factors to consider are the time of year you want to tie the knot and how far in advance you’re planning. These elements can significantly impact your planning process and the availability of local vendors. In the Upper Midwest, for example, wedding venues see a surge in demand during the summer and fall months, which often means those sought-after dates get booked well in advance.

The key to a smooth execution is clear and timely communication with your vendors.

4 – 8 Months 

Booking within the four to eight-month window comes with its perks, particularly vendor discounts! During this time frame, it’s common to find vendors offering promotions, allowing you to save some money while securing quality services. Although popular wedding dates can be challenging to obtain within this time frame, you’ll have a broad range of vendors to choose from.

At The Pines, our promotional offers align with date popularity. For cost-effective options, consider Sundays throughout the year or dates between November and March!

8 – 10 Months

We like to call this the “comfy zone.” Couples who book in this timeframe can enjoy the benefits of potential vendor discounts while still having ample time to plan their dream wedding. This window allows for a bit more relaxed planning experience, allowing you to explore various ideas and themes.

11 – 14 Months

Eleven to fourteen months is the most common timeline for booking weddings in the Red River Valley and Upper Midwest regions. In the Fargo, North Dakota wedding market, couples who start their planning during this time frame often have a better chance of securing the most desirable wedding dates in the most popular wedding months—specifically summer and fall.
